Serendipity Travel
Sailing, Hiking and Outdoor Adventures

The British Virgin Islands; the French Riviera and the Grand Prix de Monaco; Iceland, and the total solar eclipse; Greece; Thailand; and a France canal boat wine tour!

Wander off from the tour and the crowds!

Above: A Dubrovnik Old Town gate when a cruise ship arrives (we visit ports in the evenings after the cruise ships leave);
A man who was not a fan of crowding, waiting on his tour at the entrance to the Parthenon.

Life is an adventure, not a package tour!

Participatory, experiential, small group travel allows you to see places from a new perspective!  We take care of logistics but without scheduling your activities, allowing you to take your own lead rather than follow an umbrella-waving guide. We don't tell you where to eat, either-- discover your own family-run tavern.

Your Trip Organizer

Edward Laucella, aka, "Captain Ed"

A love for travel, and a career in the business, led to my obtaining captain's licenses in Greece and Croatia, and taking friends sailing around the world for more than 20 years.

My Philosophy
I believe being an active part of a crew while exploring your own path, is not only more immersive, it's more rewarding.  While we visit some 'must-see' places, we also have experiences and visit places cruise ships and buses can't.

“Tourists don’t know where they’ve been, travelers don’t know where they’re going.”

Past Trips

Interested in learning more about my past trips? Reading about past trips can help you get a better idea of what the trips are like and give you ideas for future travel.

I revisit the best destinations like Greece, Croatia and the British Virgin Islands typically every other year.  Italy is so popular and fun that I sail there every year, rotating among the three best areas.  In addition to the "by-the- cabin" group trips I offer every year, I am also available to plan private trips for small groups to any sailing destination.  If you have a family or friend group of at least four people, ask me about helping you find a private option!
